Firewall rules and port forwarding.

Hi all, I have a question here. If I port forward port 22 to my server but I have a drop SSH and port 22 rule in WAN_IN, will my connection with my server interrupted when I'm connected from outside? Does firewall rules apply to port forward and DMZ?
