Hey gang !
I'm a close-to-total noob with QOS, and can only report one real success with load-balancing.
Therefore I have two questions, regarding that working setup.
- For some reason, average download performance has been poor lately on that site. I'm attaching a speedtest graph (automated tests 4 times a day), one can see that the load-balancing thing greatly improved the results, then something happened and the average went back to what it was before the LB. And the two last weeks are even below that.
I hid the latency (ping) values because they are so bad they dwarf the download and upload graphs. I'll add the Latency graph below the first one.
It's a remote site. I didn't pay a visit since it began going south, so I have very little insight. It seems that one of the WAN links has been unplugged for a while, that would be consistent with the part when rates went back to what they were before. But now these are both plugged in, and the results are not great.
Question 1 : well, what the f**k ?
Question 2 is a bit more scientific. I've been asked to configure QOS for two things on that (residencial/home office) system :
- VOIP (two voip phones in the house, conference calls day in day out)
- Apple TV (these downloads are so slow when the kids are watching youtube).
Is there anything specific to configuring QOS with dual-WAN load-balancing ?
Is it wise (possible ?) to give priority to the AppleTV (granted that the phones got served first) ?
