Hi! I have a thing.
It's an ER-8. I like it, but the UI is confusing to me. And, since I'm CLI deficient, I literally do *NOT* know how to set up what I need to set up.
My needs:
- 1 VLAN using ports 1 through 4 with a 10.0.0.0/16 setup. this is for GenPop. They'll never *HIT* more than 500 devices, but people come and go all day, so it's not uncommon to see a DHCP log with 1200 here and there throughout the day. I'd like the lease time set to 4 hours, but I really don't care. 8 hours is fine.
- 1 VLAN using ports 5 and 6 with 192.168.0.0/24. This is for an escrow side; one to their switch, the other direct to their server. At *MOST* there will be 15 devices on the network. DHCP can be a week for all it matters here. It does have to have RDP port forwardrd to a single machine, though.
- 1 VLAN using port 7 with 172.16.0.0/24. This is for mortgage. I'm not expecting more than 5 to 8 devices on here, maximum.
- All three need to be able to access eth0 (WAN, DHCP, Time Warner). If possible, I'd like to give the 192 and 172 a pointer to the printers at 10.0.0.11 and 10.0.0.10. This isn't 100% needed as they have regulations in place that prevents them from being able to use the more public stuff.
They don't really need to be VLANs -- I'm a deep-networking n00b. I use physical switches and router cascades to split networks. It's messy, but honestly, that's how my mind works: messy. The more cluttered something is, the more it makes sense to me.
How do I team(?) ports together to get the desired result? I attampted to use a Cradlepoint for this. They're easy to configure, and usually rock-solid-stable -- unless you have a cable provider or your bandwidth is more than 165mb/s. So, yeah, no.
Please, treat me like a derp. Right now, I am one. I'm a derp that wants to learn. I have 20 workable machines here at the house that I can set up for testing.
Help me out with this, and if you're local to Riverside, CA, I'll buy you a beer. Keg.
