Change to EdgeRouter X

Hey Guys,

I have just bought a EdgeRouter X because i would like to create multiple vlan's for use in my Unifi UAP's.

Must say; pretty nice and small thing, now let's see what the performance is Smiley Happy

My situation is as followed;

First;

I have a separate room where i have 4 LAN lines witch go to a 5-port TP-Link switch.

Here i fix computers and stuff, mostly infected with virusses.

Second;

I have several switches around the house for connecting pretty mutch everything, let's say that is my Home Network.

At this network i have attached 3 UAP's from Unifi with 3 SSID's.

What i would like to create is the following;

- My DHCP Cable modem connected to eth0

- My "Creapy Network" connected to eth1 with 10.0.0.1/24 range and only access to the internet

- My Home Network connected to eth2, eth3, eth4 with;

  • 192.168.7.1/24 range for untagged traffic (UAP SSID-1)
  • 192.168.17.1/24 range for VLAN-10 Traffic (UAP SSID-2)
  • 192.168.27.1/24 range for VLAN-20 Traffic (UAP SSID-3)

Of course VLAN-10 & VLAN-20 & All Untagged Clients cannot see and/or speak to eachother.

So, what i did is the following

I have installed the Edgerouter With the Wizard (Hell, it is there, why not use it Smiley Very Happy).

Choose for the option; WAN+2LAN2 And voila i have 2 separate networks both with internet.

But now the tricky one, i want to add 2 VLAN's to switch0 (witch contains; eth2, eth3, eth4).

So i Click on Add Interface, then Add Vlan,

  • VLAN ID: 10
  • interface; switch0
  • Address; 192.168.17.1/24

And voila VLAN-10 is created.

BUT

Problem

When i connect a client to eth2, eth3, eth4 it is getting a nice DHCP adress from the 192.168.7.x pool. Oke That is good!

But, when i connect a client to eth2, eth3, eth4 and manually set the interface to;

  • 192.168.17.2
  • 255.255.255.0
  • 192.168.17.1
  • 192.168.17.1 (DNS Primary server)

It is connected but i can't go to the internet, it looks like something went wrong adding the VLAN to eth0

But when i want to add eth0 to the switch it wouldn't let me.

I Hope that you guys can help me out.

I have made some pictures, for understanding my situation.

Thanks guys!
