I have an Apple TV 3 running Plex Connect (running on a QNAP NAS). I had the following lines in my old Tomato router:
address=/trailers.apple.com/192.168.73.4
address=/atv.plexconnect/192.168.73.4
in the DNSMASQ custom configuration section. This enabled the Trailers app on the Apple TV 3 to always point at the QNAP NAS where it would then load the Plex Connect app instead of the Trailers app.
I would like to replicate this behaviour with my new EdgeRouter Lite.
So far I have:
1) added "address=/trailers.apple.com/192.168.73.4" and "address=/atv.plexconnect/192.168.73.4" to the /etc/dnsmasq.conf file
2) restarted the EdgeRouter Lite.
This did not work. I just now checked the /etc/dnsmasq.conf file and my changes where overwritten when the EdgeRouter Lite was restarted.
Can someone please give me some insight into how to approach this problem? Or somewhere to look for additional information?
I apologize if this has been asked before. I have searched here and found differing opinions on where to store custom DNSMASQ configurations.
Where should I store my custom configuration?
Do I have to do something to enable DNSMASQ such that this use of it will work as I want it to?
