Some context:
My ER-X router is "managing" my home lan: the dnsmasq inside er-x manages the "phi8.home" domain: any clients in my home network can for example do "ping thewall.phi8.home" and get the hostname resolved.
I set up a n openvpn server to let relatives connect inside my lan from theirs home.
theirs local domain is .lan ( eg: they can ping their router with ping mywall.lan and get the name resolved) WHEN THE VPN IS NOT OPEN.
As soon as they open the client connection,
- ping thewall.phi8.home resolves ( the dns server is pushed by the openvpn server to the client)
- ping mywall.lan does not resolves anymore ( their local dns server is not queried anymore)
Can somebody help me on that subject ??
