Dynamic DNS Oddity

Hello, first time posting, and I have searched but couldn't find anything to fix my exact problem.

I have two EdgeMAX router lite's setup at our CEO's two houses.  We have many services like camera NVR's and Crestron Control apps setup using DynDNS for dynamic DNS.  I have setup the DDNS settings properly, and that is functioning normally.  Then I used port forwarding to allow the specific ports we needed through the firewall and into the devices.  Externally, all of that is working as expected without problems.  However, from within the local network when I try to browse to the DDNS name I get the EdgeRouter Lite's admin interface.  Thus if I try to go a specific port, it will not respond, and does not let the internal device respond.  This is of course causing problems with Crestron and NVR apps, as they are configured to connect via the DDNS name.  I am not sure why the router is responding to the DDNS internally, but does not externally, and thus is not allowing these apps to connect to their devices.

Any help would be appreciated.  And if I need to provide more info, please let me know.

Thanks,

Dave
