I've been installing Edge Routers for almost 2 years now, so far installed about 45. Almost all of them I just flash a base configuration and make changes as necessary. The base DHCP subnet for the primary LAN interface isnt always the same at each location but it works as soon as I flash the device with the config and restart it. The problem happens when I need to change the LAN subnet to something else. When I rebuild the DHCP service with the changed subnet it doesnt work right away. In fact, I have to do some weird things to get it working at all. I've figured out through trial and error that if I enable Authoritative mode, assign my computer an IP within the DHCP range, and restart it twice in a row, the DHCP service will start assigning IPs. This doesnt sound normal and I dont think anyone else has had anything happen like this. It isnt a huge problem as once its setup it doesnt need to be changed, but its a pain in the neck and adds 5-10 minutes of wasting time for something as simple as a DHCP server.
Is there also a way I can find out if the service is running through the CLI?
