Hello all,
I am looking to install an ER-X in an outdoor installation in an PTMP installation with some AirMax equipment. The site is located in Canada and will need to operate in weather conditions ranging from -40/40C (-40/100F).
The operating temperatures listed on the ER-X spec sheet is -10/40C. I am looking to see if anyone has experience with this that could shine some light on enclosure sizing I should look at to avoid freezing/overheating.
Box would be located in direct sunlight with miniaml tree coverage in the area. Inside I need to house a POE adapter for an airmax reciever (i do not know what it is at this moment as its from the ISP). I then also need an adapter to provide POE to a ER-X and a Picostation.
Concerns/Questions I have:
- if it drops below -10C will I cause damage to the device?
- What size of should I be looking for to stop overheating but also stay warm enough in the winter conditions
- ER-X does not look like it would want to live in an enclosure, any reason I should not do this?
- Is there an alternative to the ER-X I should look at to replace it with? Would a ER-lite for some reason be a better call?
