VLANs on PoE 5 - Followed KB articles, can't get out to the internet.

Hey everyone.

Trying to get a VLAN up and running for our VoIP phones today. Haven't had much success. The end result is that I can get on the appropriate subnet, ping back to the router, etc..., but I can't get outside of the network and online.

The KB articles I followed are:

VLAN on Router Article

VLAN on EdgeSwitch Article

So I'm only trying to setup one VLAN, specifically for our VoIP phones, as opposed to the 5 listed in both articles. So I followed all instructions for setting up 'vif 2' and nothing else.

There are a few other steps I skipped because I didn't think I needed to do them (ie. things already configured via GUI), or was worried that I'd inadvertently block traffic during the work day because I'm still learning.

The first big difference is that, where the Router guide configures VLAN2 on eth0, I had to configure my VLAN2 on switch0. My ER is setup with the W2LAN2 wizard. I didn't enable bridge mode, so I'm confused as to why switch0 is the interface I have to use.

Other than that, I set the interface, enabled DHCP via the GUI, and set dns forwarding listen on switch0.2.

After that, I hopped to my ES48Lite and started on that. Here's where it gets hazy: I skipped the first bit of sw1 configuration where you exclude all ports except for the management, trunk, and "video" ports. This is because sw1 is my core switch in a small office, so it also has ports going directly to other offices, APs, etc... Point being, I didn't want packets getting rejected on these ports and the only packets I want to tag right now are those coming from VoIP connections.

Anyway, I then got as far as the bit where you configure Access port 0/23. I figured I could use this as a test port to see if I had made it far enough. I saved my configuration, plugged into port 0/23. And that's where I hit a wall: I'm able to get to the router, but I can't get outside.

What have I missed here? Or can someone point me towards an article that is geared towards a simpler VLAN config?

Thank you.
