Unifi Controller in DHCP Leases.

I'm using the edgerouter lite and UAP unifi AP point.

The Unifi is connected to a switch that is connected to the router.

I'm currently controlling the AP using an unraid docker running the Controller software.

While scrolling the DHCP leases i saw this field "unifi controller".

I wanted to know if its better to connect the AP directly to the router?

Can it be cotrolled via the router?
