Hi all-
I'm not sure which forum to post this in, so I figured to start here. I have an Apple Airport Extreme that I've finally decided I want to replace; it's unreliable and a single point of failure in my network. I've been in shops that used the Ubiquiti unifi UAP devices with great success and many folks have raved about Ubiqui, so I'd like to replace my AE with Ubuiqiti gear.
Problem is, I don't know what to get. I have all my machines connected to a Cisco SG200-26 switch, and the AE took care of all the wifi devices (laptops, phones, ipads), and while I'm fine with getting multiple products, it's not clear which router and wifi units to get. I basically need a rock-solid unit to replace the connection between my cable modem and the switch, and I need a powerful wifi to get from one side of the house to hopefully the back yard, about 100 feet away. I've tried using extending Apple's wifi networking with an airport express (i.e. the airport express is set up in another room using wifi, it doesn't have an ethernet connection), and that has been something of a miserable failure.
