Hi all - Question for the masses. I have a new Edgerouter X SFP and it is working great all except one little thing - I can't seem to get the SFP port to behave properly. The setup right now is eth0 is the FiOS WAN connection (Straight to the ONT), and then i have eth1-4 set and any of them can connect successfully to my Cisco switch and link up fine. (There is no trunking or anything going on here - just a straight link.
I admit I did use one of the wizards to set up the router as it is my first one I've set up - here is my issue:
I bought a compatible SFP (TP Link - it was on the compatibility list) for the Edgerouter, and the proper fiber for it as well. I connect the router to my switch and I see a link and *some* activity on the link, but the switch reports it as down/down. FYI the switch SFP is a genuine Cisco switch SFP. I can recreate this with a Cisco 3560E, and two different 2960 switches. I can link each switch to each other fine with any of the SFPs, so I can't say the SFP or the switch is the issue.
Has anyone seen this? Do I need to do something to tell the router to treat eth5 (the SFP slot) the same as the other eth1-4?
Thanks!
