Hello
I'm looking into small problem. I have fiber to my house and there is a telsey endbox that I connect my ERX to.
I should be able to get up to three public ip addresses through this Telsey box but there are two LAN ports on it, one TV port and then two phone ports. I have talked to the ISP and none of the ports are trunked so I have only access to the two lan ports. They told me that this ports are just basicly a VLAN switch, but none ports are tagged and they don't allow access to that.
Every ip address from the ISP is registered to one MAC address on my network, as in my case, to the WAN port on my router, eth0. I could connect ETH1 to the second LAN on the Telsy and get new ip address, but they told that it would also be possible to get it with virtual interface through eth0, just have them like dhcp aware as they give the ip addresses trough dhcp. I found that in linux it is possible to have more than one IP on same interface, with eth0:0 etc and also have each assignable with dhcp.
But I don't find a way to do this on the edgerouter. Is it possible to have two other virtual interfaceses with MAC address in dhcp on eth0?
I'm getting upgrade soon on the fiber box to Genexis as the fiber will be upgraded to 1Gbs. There are more ports, three I think that I could use. I just don't belive that I have to connect a router to all the ports to get the ip addresses for one MAC address each. I hope you understand what I'm trying to do.
