EdgeSwitch Smartqueue Setting guidelines

Hi,

I've had great results with the fq_codel, aka SmartQueue implementation for some time now.  But i've only seen sporadic recommendations for the various settings.  I tweaked mine a bit and think I am getting better results.  Maybe if  or someone could give use some good guidance for speed ranges?  At home I have a 175/12 comcast connection that absolutely needs fq_codel due to bufferbloat.  But I know that when you get into sub 4mbit connections the settings can change a bit.

Now, as some may or may not know, the edgerouter devices do have a performance limit on max throughput when running a SmartQueue.  So I imagine that over a certain limit on each model the settings may become moot.  but assuming you stay under the ceiling for your model, what are the general guidelines for: Limit, FQ_CODEL quantum and HTB Quantum.

Since I often go on the road with an ER-X, it'd be nice to know the preferred settings for different bandwidths since it varies widely depending on location.

Just thinking to group things into ranges, something like below.  Not sure if Up vs Down plays a role in the settings so that could further expand them.

Based on browsing several sources I came up with:

12Mbit up:

Limit: 600

FQ_CODEL: 300

HTB Quantum: 1500

175 Down:

Limit: 1200

FQ-CODEL: 1514

HTB Quantum: 8000

But I could be way off on those.  And I realize there are a lot of other factors that mean YMMV.
