Due to the fact I want to use my Edgerouter as gateway instead of the router my ISP provides I had to setup my netwerk the following way:
On my previous connection I setup OpenDNS in the Edgerouter to block ads and other websites which worked great. In this setup however that doesn't seem to work since my switch is connected directly to the NTU of my provider. Due to the fact I'm also using some internal domains (domain names set to internal IP addresses using the DNS host names function in Edgerouter, I'm not able to set the OpenDNS records as my main DNS.
As a solution for now I have setup Pi Hole but I'd rather use an external DNS since my own DNS server ofcourse comes with the necessary maintenance.
Currently the problem is that when setting my Edgerouter as DNS the OpenDNS servers apparently are not used. Is there a way of using OpenDNS but still be able to use the DNS host names?
