EdgeRouter X compared to consumer routers?

Evening all,

I am upgrading my entire home network and am trying to get a new router. My home internet is cable with 80Mb/s down and 20Mb/s up over coaxial. I'm currently viewing the EdgeRouter X / SFP as a possible choice.

My main concern is that I am unsure of how the ERX compares to consumer routers right now. Using benchmarks from private user on Amazon and SmallNetBuilder, it almost seems like these devices may possibly not be as "fast" compared to the multi-purpose routers like a Archer C7.

Of course these charts only show WAN to LAN throughput comparison as a metric.

So please. I do want to try Ubiquiti out but am looking for performance justification that this modular and dedicated approach is the right thing and is superior to consumer products of the price range.
