My ISP has assigned me a single /29 subnet. That gives me 5 usable IPs. I need 2 subnets so as to segment HOME and OFFICE lans. Tried to get my isp to reassign me two /30 subnets, but they refuse. They say they don't provide more than 1 subnet to residential customers, thus I would have to upgrade my service to business class. I find this absurb! I'm perfectly happy with my 200/15 speed, besides I just can't justify the cost increase. Trying to figure out my options without having to use vlans. Can I further subnet the /29 into two /30? This will give me 2 usable ips on both subnets. Can someone point me to info to configure this on my new ERL-3 that I'm preparing to setup? OR is it simplier to use the /29 and just route the specific traffic to the designated lan as follows:
50.18.2.18 - 50.18.2.20 --> eth1 {172.23.0.0}
50.18.2.21 - 50.18.2.22 --> eth2 {192.168.100.0}
