ERX as PPPoE Client with /30

Hi Folks,

This may seem an obvious question but I'm new to EdgeOS despite being a long time user of UBNTs other products & a Cisco/Fortinet head (sorry for swearing haha).

Planning a config & wouldnt mind a sanity check if possible.

Proposed config is ERX with an ADSL modem in passthru on one port, ERX acting as PPPOE client over that ADSL modem to connect to an ISP over the DSL 'always on'. ISP assigns a static /30 to the PPPOE session on dialin 1.2.3.1 & 1.2.3.2 lets say. Assuming the ERX binds these IPs to the interface - eth0 lets say.

Question concerns the port forwarding on the ERX. Some services exist on lets say, port 80 on .1 & .2 external IPs but require routing/port forwarding to different internal destinations.

From my limited understanding of the ERX interface the 'port forwarding' tab that I have seen (maybe in an old version?) just forwards the given port for all IPs bound to a given interface, in his case eth0.

My further limited understanding of EdgeOS's GUI leads me to beleive, therefore, that I need to use DNAT instead to achieve what I want to here using the 'destination address' of the inbound packet to filter it, NAT it internally to an IP & job done, a bit like I would on, say, a Cisco ASA or IPTables.

Can someone please confirm my understanding is correct or if I am being a complete numpty here? The kit arrives tomorrow so I'm sure I'll be clearer then but just want to give myself a fighting chance here  as I'm sure you'll understand.

Final question, and I realise this may not be possible - can one bind a third IP to eth0 (192.168.1.2 say), so the ERX can route packets to the ADSL Modem (defaults to 192.168.1.1 in bridge mode) for SNMP purposes & monitoring of line stats, or is this me being a bit too 'fancy'? Possibly so....just a thought though.

Many thanks in advance folks
