I have two ERX at two different houses. They have been up and running with no issues (until I decided to mess with them). I wanted to set up an IPSec tunnel between the two for easier access to my files when I'm at the other location. As well as learn the equipment and config for these wonderful little devices!
So that brings me to last night. I made sure I have SSH access to remote and temporarily allowed gui access so I could log into the webui. I had been trying to bring up an IPSec tunnel but it was going to be testing only so I only do commit and I don't save the config for easy rollback. Well due to one location being also behind a FIOS router I was having no luck bringing up the tunnel and decided to give up for the night. While I was in the GUI I went into the VPN tab and clicked the delete button on the VPN config but gave some error. Clicked it again. Page reloaded and became unusable as some error message kept popping up and I couldn't do anything on it. Back to SSH! I issued a reboot just to get the device back to working condition. It never came back online. I had someone flip the power strip off and then back on after about 10 seconds this morning just to make sure everything was off for a fresh start if it was stuck. Last update I had was that the AP light is off and there's no internet....
This person isn't techy at all so there was only so much I could ask for during the 10 minutes that person was available. I can't get eyes on it again until tonight and I physically can't get to it for a few days. Does it sound bricked? Maybe the config got corrupted?
For some extra info - I just upgraded the remote side to 1.8.5 from 1.6 over the weekend. My side running on 1.8.5 as well.
