I've tried the forums and FAQs, but afraid it's still a bit advanced for me. I have Google Fiber and have attached a photo of the modem. What I have been told is that in order to run VPN (masked IP, protected IP , etc) for all devices that connect to it via wifi in my house, I need to do it at the router level. That's why I'm looking at the one here on Amazon . My question is, how do I connect the modem to the router above? it's got the coax, the fiber jack which goes into the wall, the power cord obviously, usb and then 4 gigabit ethernet spots. I have one laptop hard wired to the one there. Do i just need to get an cat6 ethernet cable and connect the two (to start)? Meaning remove the google box altogether and just go from the wall fiber jack right into the Edgemax? And then set up the router and use it for any other devices in the house I want to connnect to the VPN through (once i subscribe to a VPN service)?
