Please do not laugh, I wake up this morning and my computer has no connection. Immediately I panic thinking "the router took a dump" then immediately I think "Oh no, my servers" I run some applications that require them to be online 24/7, otherwise bad stuff happens lol I run to the kitchen to see if that computer has connectivity. It does, so I am thinking, my servers probably running just fine, it is an issue with my desktop.
Long story short, if you want the dhcp server to issue an ip to your computer; make sure that you type the mac address in lower caps
This may be common knowledge to most of you. In my defense my older router always entered the information the right way, despite me typing it on caps. So I guess it never occurred to me that lower caps is the way to go
