Hello,
Still trying to work out kinks in our VoIP system. I'm running on a 50/50 up/down connection, so bandwidth isn't an issue. Some of my users are still experiencing problems. I'm using 8x8 for VoIP service and currently have 6 phones running. Two corded, four cordless.
The first thing I did was apply traffic shaping rules based on this KB article. I'm not entirely sure what it does, but I thought I'd give it a try.
8x8's documentation suggests giving priority to a certain set of ports. I just found some posts on here about applying port based priority configurations so I'm going to try that. My question is:
1. Should I do this alongside the KB traffic shaping settings, or should I get rid of those and go with just port based priority policies?
Most of the people experiencing issues have been on the cordless phones, These operate on the 2.4ghz band, so I'm also wondering if the problem is with an oversaturated 2.4ghz environment.
Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.
