Hi,
I have a problem vith my router. It is a EdgeMax Pro, configured as eth0 being WAN (and client for OpenVpn), and all others eth1 - eth7 together in br0, behaving as regular router/switch. Now, on this bridge I don't have many connections, only 3, 2 computers and another connected 8 port switch (pretty dumb, unmanaged).
Yesterday I installed on one of the computers the OpenHab code (house automation). This system have a pretty smart auto-discovery mechanism. I needed 2 types of devices to add, one being ping based, the other UPNP based.
For a while, I wasn't able to get any of the UPNP ones. Following the advice of somebody in that forum, I started to wonder if the UPNP packets are really distributed thru the network, so ... I moved that computer connection from eth7 on the router to a port in the switch. And, voila, it worked.
I had that computer connected on eth7 from the day I got the router, with no problems. It does have proper connectivity on the local network: able to use a network printer, and using a couple of NAS disks as well.
Can anybody give me a hint, what is not configured properly on the router, so the UPNP packages are not going thru? I'm not sure which one (the broadcast or the reply) is not going thru, but I bet is the broadcast one.
Thanks a lot,
Virgil
