I have a Edgerouter Lite and a TL-SG3424P Layer 2 switch. I would like to experiment with VLANs but i am a bit unsure on few things. What would i need to be able to route traffic between two VLANs without sending the traffic thru the router ? I guess that cannot be avoided if the configuration and firewall what the two VLANs can do or can't do is in the router then the traffic must go to the router. What is the use of intervlan routing then in a L3 switch ? Do you then put the firewall configuration inside the L3 switch or does the L3 switch what it's allowed or ???
