EdgeRouter X throughput and advice on expanding the network

First off I'd like to know if it's possible to get better internet speeds than this (see imgur link) with my EdgeRouter X? Internet speeds without the router is about twice as fast. But then i can obviously only use a single device :^)

Secondly i'm looking at expanding the network within a few months to get the family off of our other (cable) internet connection. It is slower and costs a lot more.
I currently have the EdgeRouter X and a UAP AC LITE. I will for sure get a second UAP AC LITE for wifi in the other side of the apartment, but i'm not sure what to use as a switch.
If i can get better speeds from the EdgeRouter X compared to what i'm currently getting, i'm thinking about either getting a second EdgeRouter X to use as a switch, or a TOUGHSwitch (TS-5-POE). But if the EdgeRouter X is incapable of providing better internet speeds than i'm currently getting, i'm looking at getting an EdgeRouter X SFP or an EdgeRouter PoE and use the EdgeRouter X as switch.
Would the EdgeRouter X SFP or EdgeRouter PoE provide better speeds than the EdgeRouter X?
