Router Recommendation for Small Office / Home Office

I am looking for a specific Edge Router model recommendation.  I could probably get by with a standard consumer grade router, but would like the expereince of setting one up from "scratch", so to speak.

Factors to consider:

 - 100+ Mbps internet connection

 - Lots of gaming / streaming in the house

 - Patch panel and internet connection currently located in the attic-- so, HOT in the summer (located in SoCal).  For this reason, was considering the ER-8 since it has cooling fans, even though it is likely overkill in every other regard.

Other network hardware:

 - Ubiquiti 8 Port Tough Switch

 - UAP AC Lite  x2
