LOGS, LOGS, LOGS

I am frustrated.  How is it possible that a 300 dollar router cannot display logs that are legible by human beings.  For the last 3 days I been triying just about every log server and none of them can do as good a job as a cheap Linksys. I tried, security onion, splung, kiwi syslog, prtg. Come on, show me some simple logs that tell me who is triying to hack me and who is knocking on my firewall. I should not be paying top dollar to make my life more complicated.  I wish I could ripp out edgeos and put in sophos or pfsense on the hardware...

Not just venting, suggestions welcome.  I do not want to log in the router and use the CLI to look at my logs...  If it was not because I paid as much for this router as I did for the pc I built for sophos, I would already scrapped this thing and went back to what I had.

I went from a UTM that did everything to a box that struggles with a fraction of the things I did before. Blocking stuff with the DPI traffic analyzer is a joke.

I am not being a hater or a troll, love the wifi access points, love my switch. Hate, hate with passion this hunk of metal we all call a router.  The only thing this thing can do that my previous UTM could not is CLI and I am not programing 100 of these things to care about CLI.

There I feel better.
