Hardware
ISP supplying two VDSL connections (one static one dynamic)
edge routerX with updated firmware
pfSense box routing and doing squid proxy for filtering
What I want.
I want my static IP to come into the edgerouterX which will route and handle traffic to a switch that supplies connection to my nextcloud server and the other microatx boards that are running a distributed glusterfs 10.100.10.1/24 -> 10.100.10.10/24 (I want this network segmented from my dynamic home network.
I want my dynamic address to pass through the edgerouterX like a switch and have my pfsense box to route my home network and supply my squid proxy 10.0.0.1/24 -> 10.0.0.15/24. I want this network to still be able to reach into my server side 10.100.10.0/24 so I can manage these systems.
Down to the brass tax!
I am plenty aware that my pfsense box can do everything that I want here, the whole reason for adding this edgerouterX is so I can play around with the EdgeOS. I'd like to do most of this from the gui but I am also quite handy at a terminal.
From what I have read in the edgeOS manual and online tutorials tells me my best chance to get this up an running is to start with the "Load Balancing Wizard" and then just set my static routes.
I know this is a broad brush stroke but is there anything I should be looking at or missing before I start tearing down my network and reworking this?
