EdgeMax GUI not accessible because of ESET Smart Security

Hello guys,

For several days, I was wondering why my pc was not able to access the edgerouter (1.8.0) gui, but was able to access ssh. I didn't found any solution on the forum, so I digged by my own.

Finally, I found the reason and the temporary solution so I wanted to share.

Symptoms:

I was trying to access http://192.168.1.1/ from chrome and got one of these grey page with the constant error ERR_BAD_SSL_CLIENT_AUTH_CERT.

Problem:

My ESET Smart Security 9 (fully updated) was blocking the certificate!

Solution:

1. Open ESET Smart Security
2. Press F5 (to open Advanced Configuration)
3. Click on Web and EMAIL
4. Click on SSL/TLS to expand the section
5. Disable the first switch Enable SSL/TLS protocol filtering
6. Press OK



Et voilà ! You can now access your edgerouter os web gui !
