Basic networking help

 Hi all --

First, thank you in advance for your help.

By way of background, I am fairly new to networking, but have a good understanding of the basics, i.e. I understand IP addressing, I've done basic configuration on my home system already, and I'm generally familiar enough with technology that if someone can point me in the right direction (i.e. Google), then I can figure it out on my own pretty easily.

In this instance, I am acting as the de facto "IT guy" for a family member that owns a restaurant. Up to now, the networking has been done by people that have no idea what they're doing at all, and they have already arrived at a point where it is a big mess and things have been done that I don't recommend. So, I'm trying to clean it up for them, and at the very least make things work with what I've got (and what I'm about to buy).

What we have currently are two separate networks coming in to the building. Neither have much bandwidth at all -- one has approx 8 MBPS down, and about 0.5 MBPS up (yes, 0.5), while the other has a "dedicated" and fairly consistent 3 up, 3 down. The second connection was added specifically to allow them to view their CCTV cameras while off-premise, as the existing connection doesn't have enough upload speed to allow it with any consistency whatsoever.

In addition, I've recommended they move their POS system off of the existing network onto the new network, specifically for security purposes.

However, their PC's (which is where they will actually view the camera system directly from) will actually be connected to the original network, NOT the camera network. Therefore, I have planned for an interconnect between these two networks.

I have just purchased two EdgeRouter X 5-port units to this all work together, and I've put together a basic diagram. I'm sure there is a better/neater/cleaner way to do this, but this is the best that I could come up with.

With all of that said, here is my question --

I have no concerns about configuring the two switches to handle the 3 devices that each of them will be handling, or getting them to communicate out to the internet from there. My concern is with handling the traffic at the interconnect -- specifically, how to direct the traffic from a client PC on network/switch 1 to the CCTV recorder that will be connected to network/switch 2. The way it is currently set up (using a 3rd network that is currently present and is going away) is that when they want to view the cameras, they literally login "remotely", so that the video traffic goes all the way out to the internet and then flows back in -- obviously this is a terrible solution.

Any suggestions? Any resources I can just google that will tell me exactly what I'm looking to do? Or, am I just overthinking this and it will actually work with no issues? I'm thinking that it won't, and that I'm going to have to do some configuration on the specific ports....but hopefully you all can confirm.

Thank you again!
