New Home Setup

The last several years I have had a combination of Apple Airport Extremes that have provided wifi for the house. I recently moved and begin setting up my network and I want it to be solid and reliable as I work from home often which requires video conferencing and a ton ov VOIP traffic.

I have 150mpbs coming into the house (sadly straight into my basement) from there I have...

  • ARRIS SB6190 Cable Modem
  • Netgear S3300-28X ProSAFE 24-Port Gigabit Stackable Smart Switch with 4 10G uplinks
  • Luma WiFi (this is the weak point!) as it's also acting as my router/firewall
  • I also have 2 NAS devices
  • 8 wired Cat6a throughout the house for the office and living room

First off, I'm not happy with Luma. The first AP I get close to 150mbps however the 2nd and 3rd I get about 30mbps. Furthermore, it's lacking features that I would like - it's built for your average consumer which I'm not.

Therefore, I'm looking to purchase the following:

  • ERPOE-5
  • UniFi Cloud Key
  • UAP-AC-PRO (only one to see it's coverage and then later purchasing more).

I would have my cable modem linked to the eth0 (WAN) on the EERPOE-5 and then the WAP(s) plugged into eth2, ehth, and eth4, and then eth1 would a link to my Netgear S3300-28X.

The Netgear would be for the 8 wired Cat6a and the two NAS devices (that need 6 total eth connections). Furthermore, the Netgear using SFP+ has a fiber going to another switch at a secondary location.

The WAPs would need to cover 3 floors of 2000+ square foot with a lot of drywall and some steel beams.

Does this setup look good? Am I missing anything? I appreciate your feedback and opionions on the setup. I want to do this correctly the second time.
