I just recieved my edgerouter x and I'm a little confused how to set this thing up for home use(plug in a modem and connect my pc to it). I've done a few google searches and video tutorials on setting this device up but i think there is something i'm not getting. The main goal i have right now is i'd to connect to the device through a browser. however simply plugging my pc up to Eth0 on the router and typing 192.168.1.1 in a browser isn't working.
Looking through some tutorials, one of the 1st steps seems to make a static ip. So to do that i clicked properties on on my ethernet adapter. then i click internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/ipv4). I change my ip to 192.168.1.121 , subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and defaut gateway to 192.168.1.1. then i try opening the browser and nothing. So think there is something im not getting from there. Thanks for any suggetestions.
