Greetings,
I'm having some trouble wrapping my head around the NAT Hairpin tutorials. I've futzed around with the examples and a working config but can't seem to crack it.
My scenario:
I'm working to transition a couple of sites off the standard Comcast gateway to new ERX units with new internal subnets. During the transition I'd like to let people continue to work by being able to print to the original address of the copier on site until all clients can be updated. Is it possible to hairpin NAT translate a new IP to an old IP to keep connectivity for clients?
Old Range: 10.1.10.0/24
New Range: 172.31.54.0/24
The copier currently has 10.1.10.200 as its address.
The copier will be changed to have 172.31.54.19 as its new address.
I'd like clients connected to switch0 to be able to obtain a new 172.31.54.x address yet still be able to communicate to the copier on the old 10.1.10.200 address temporarily while the transition is underway.
Thoughts?
