I feel like a noob asking this.. but no amount of searching it helping me with an answer.
I need to setup port 22 so a Qnap can SSH into my NAS for assistence. The problem is half the how-to I find are setting up the port 22 in NAT, and a few others are just using the Port Forwarding tab. On top of that, I have used the UPNP feature my Qnap has and it says the port is open, but when I get with an outside site or try to Putty from work, it does not work.
What is best practice, setup the port forward in NAT or Port Forward tab?
Also a bunch of the Wiki link people have been posting no longer work. So I don't know which step by step to follow.
Thank you!
